The Man

Behind The Camera

Ever since I was a kid, I was obsessed with the worlds inside movies—especially dystopian films. I didn’t just watch them; I studied them without even realizing it. I’d sit there wondering how these stories were made, how entire realities were built from nothing but imagination and a camera. But back then, it was just curiosity. I didn’t know it would become my life.

Chapter II

After high school, I went to SUNY and tried to force myself into graphic design and web development. I failed every class my first semester. At the time, it felt like the end of something—but really, it was the beginning. That failure made me confront a truth I was scared to admit I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t inspired. I wasn’t creating anything that felt like me. So, I transferred to BMCC, still lost, still searching. I kept asking myself, what is my purpose? What do I actually want? And then one day, I looked over and saw a camera sitting on a tripod next to me. That moment changed everything.

Chapter III

I didn’t have the money for my own gear, but BMCC let us rent equipment. So I rented a camera every single week—no excuses, no breaks. I studied how it worked, how lenses shaped emotion, how framing could tell a story without a single word. But learning the basics wasn’t enough. I wanted more. I wanted to understand light, movement, composition, rhythm. I wanted to become a cinematographer. And the moment I made that decision, my entire life shifted. It stopped being a hobby. It became a calling. This is who I am. This is who I'm meant to be.
